About

Dr Nadine Ali

Consultant Cardiologist specialising in complex cardiac devices and heart failure, at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

Dr Ali trained at the University of Oxford and University of Cambridge, before her postgraduate training took her across multiple regions with broad exposure to general cardiology.

She went on to complete her CCT in general cardiology — subspecialising in heart failure and complex devices — with Health Education East Midlands, and holds a PhD from Imperial College London for her research into conduction system pacing, a novel technique with the potential to improve outcomes for patients with heart failure. She is now an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London, where she continues to supervise research.

She takes a holistic approach to heart failure care — from imaging and medication through to device implantation — building a single, coordinated treatment plan around each patient.

She was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2026, and combines her research background with a consultation style built around clear explanation and unhurried, shared decision-making.

Philosophy of Care

Research-led, patient-first

01

Tailored, not generic

Dr Ali's research focuses on matching each patient to the device therapy best suited to them, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

02

Time to decide

She established a dedicated complex device clinic to give patients unhurried time to discuss options and ask questions before deciding on treatment.

03

Teaching the next generation

As Cardiology Teaching Lead and a Royal College Tutor, she is committed to raising standards of care beyond her own patient list.
